Seasonal Slumping Mold - Heart Deviled Egg Platter Dish

The warm glass Heart Deviled Egg design can be used as a dish or platter to show off your deviled eggs at all your family gatherings! There are 12 Egg Cups so you only need to boil up 6 eggs! Who would have thought a heart and the word deviled would be in the same name; a real example of an oxymoron!

Start with a 12 x 12 Sheet of base glass and then create a pattern. It is not as hard as you think to make your own glass pattern by flipping the mold over onto your glass and tracet on with a felt tip marker pen. With a heart, you have the option of making to half hearts giving you one straight edge cut and then one gentle curved cut and giving you more success.  Then push the two halves together for fusing.  Add frit along the seam and all of your other decorate glass accessories and then fuse. You want a thicker piece of glass than a standard 3 mm as it will be handles a lot and you want it more durable. 

Note: When cutting any curve, flair your cut out in multiple location to the edge of the glass, ending  where ever the bend occurs to insure when you break it would only take a piece at a time of the glass and preserve your curved score.

Finally, after it is at least tack fusing the pieces together, perform a slump fuse it into the mold.

USE:

1. We suggest elevating your mold at least a 1/2 inch off of the shelf for even heat distribution.
2. Smooth the mold surface with fine sandpaper so it accepts kiln wash uniformly.
